Our company is getting rid of a 2003 Yukon XL and 2004 Pacifica.
They told me to look over the car and try to find a value.
Here’s the base of the ad that I’m working on. I’ll have to add to it as I go of course.
2004 Pacifica
...The Good...
3.5 L V6 with AWD and 122,000 miles
Leather interior, power seats, windows and locks
Moonroof
Rear view camera
Good tires (new in 2008)
6 disc CD changer in dash
...The bad...
It’s a Pacifica
Paint on hood above headlights is peeling, hail damage on hood, and deep scratches on passenger door/fender
Headlights are turning Yellow (UV damage)
Navigation system needs updating or repair
Has emission system malfunction P0400 and P0441
Driver side front window will not go up
Possible coolant leak
Now, the powers that be do not want to repair anything on the car so I set the value at $2000-$2500. We’ll see how that goes over!

Don’t forget to sell the Pacifica as having a lot of Mercedes underneath. It was developed by DCX along with the R-class Mercedes and IIRC, shares a lot of suspension componentry.
You never know who you’ll reel in with some semi-accurate name dropping.

Ugh, I always hated these.
Tell me about this Yukon XL.

...The Good...

The Bad
Everything.

True!
Oddly, I like the R class!

Seriously, how did they manage to make something this big feel so small. The interior is damn near claustrophobic!
My bad on the Yukon. it’s a 2003. I haven’t had a chance to go over it yet. One owner, 153,000 miles AWD/4WD, 5.3, pretty much every option. Leather, 3rd row, load levelers, HD Towing package. It’s really pretty nice.

It’s actually a 2003. 153,000 miles AWD/4WD, 5.3, pretty much every option. Leather, 3rd row, load levelers, HD Towing package. The nice thing is that I have every service record going back to new.
I haven’t figured a price yet, they were looking for around $6,000 recently.

Just remembered that they were thinking around $6,000 for it recently.

The worst part is that they dumped TONS of money into it. I have a stack of service records almost an inch thick for repairs.

Sometimes it is better to cut your losses.

My neighbor has a Pacifica, and it has between 200,000 and 300,000 miles (maybe even 300K now). Those are some long lasting vehicles.

OK, I’m interested.
What color? You said pretty much every option, does it have dual zone temp controls? Heated Seats? TV for the 2nd row?
Was just surfing the net for these today. Thinking about a license plate that says “DAD BUS”.

Let me go out and take a look!

No TV and Heated seats. It does have Dual climate controls rear radio controls and front/rear HVAC.

Dude, these things are nice. I don’t need it at all, and I’m very tempted.

Hmm. You said AWD/4x4, is it really full selectable 4x4? 2hi, 4hi and 4lo?
Also, where are you?

The truck is in Elgin at work. I90 and 31.
Yeah, AWD, 2WD, 4hi and low.

I might try to take it home over the weekend. It is a nice driver!

I love those things. I have no need for it, but I seriously want it. My truck is a GMT-800, I actually like their interiors for the most part.

If you decide to buy it, let me know. You’ll have to drive right by my house to get there. :)

That’s not THAT bad, I could take the train almost there from metro Detroit.
Hmm. Maybe you can get me some more pics?
![]() 11/10/2015 at 21:22 |

Will do. I’m thinking about it, I could take the train almost all the way there (and not worry about another car to bring back) from metro Detroit.

Yeah, I can do that Thursday, I’m off tomorrow. It’s set for a full Detail on Saturday so you’ll be getting the “before” pics.

Yeah, the Metra train to Big Timber station will get you very close. My brother in law is a train master there.

Thanks man, let me know!

IF this happens that’ll probably be my plan. Like I said, no 2nd vehicle to worry about then. I can hop the train 15 minutes from my house too. It’s about 4-5 hours out that way.

Yeah, that’s definitely the way to go.
